As part of the GIS team, this position will play a critical role in leveraging spatial data and
geospatial technologies to support planning, operations, and infrastructure management.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise in GIS software and spatial analysis,
industry knowledge of transportation systems, and effective communication skills to
contribute to the successful implementation of transportation projects and initiatives.
QGis skills are required, and Automation is helpful for writing scripts to assist with data
corrections. Working knowledge of NodeJS is also required.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Manage, Analyze and improve GIS data
- QGis skills are required, and Automation is helpful for writing scripts to assist with
data corrections. - Use NodeJS to create and improve existing tools to aid in the above.
- Use NodeJS to create and improve existing services that provides client services
access to query GIS data.
Job Requirements - 3+ years of active Software Development.
- 2-5 years of experience in GIS analysis, cartography or spatial data management
- Experience in implementing GIS solutions for transportation projects, including
data collection, integration - QGis skills are required
- 2+ years of experience working with Node.js.
- Automation for writing scripts to assist with data corrections.
- Full life cycle software development experience
- Self-starter, who demonstrates personal initiative.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive work attitude and willingness to help others
Qualifications:
- BS and/or MS in a technical discipline (Computer Science or Software Engineering
preferred) or equivalent job experience. - Bachelor’s Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography,
Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field: - A strong educational foundation in GIS or a relevant discipline provides essential
knowledge in spatial data analysis, cartography, and geospatial technologies.
