Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Evaluate electrical components for use in RF transceiver lineups
- Make changes to production schematics, supervise and review changes to production layouts
- Work with configuration management to create new components, and issue engineering change orders to revise product bill of materials
- Perform RF lumped element matching and troubleshooting of incoming hardware, including power and digital circuit verification.
- Make changes to RF calibration and compensation settings to optimization calibrated performance
- Characterize RF and power design using test automation, review and plot data, present results.
- Monitor and participate in adjustments to factory calibration limit settings. Participate in test yield review and analysis
- Work under the direction of senior test automation programmer(s) to improve the Nextivity test automation software.
Skills and Abilities
- Good RF hardware design skillset: An ability to perform lumped element s-parameter RF matching, an understanding of RF chain performance (cascaded noise figure, gain, and linearity expressions etc.), exposure to radio transmission and reception standards preferably 3GPP LTE UE, Base Station, or Repeater standards, FCC emissions compliance requirements, etc. Electromagnetic compatibility background a plus.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus three years of RF engineering experience is required
- Alternately, a master’s degree in electrical engineering with coursework emphasis on RF engineering is acceptable.
- National Instrument’s Labview Certifications or coursework in Labview programming a plus.
Work Experience
- Experience with the Labview visual programming language to implement automation of RF tests such as noise figure, RF power, spurious emissions, EVM, etc.
- Experience with electrical schematic capture and printed circuit board layout tools (layout review only). Orcad (Cadence Capture CIS) and Mentor PADs tool experience a plus.
- MS Office Excel and Powerpoint experience required, MS Visio experience a plus.
- Experience required with laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers
